Heros Of The Gold Coast

A 17 year old pregnant girl sleeps on the floor of a Gold Coast public toilet, a 65 year old man with nowhere to go dripping wet from rain with not enought to keep warm, a child and his mother escaping domestic violence too scared to go to police for fear of losing each other. These stories were only yesterday. Today the girls from helping hand will do it all again. Run from their little Facebook group with no government support Amber and Shaz from Helping Hands Community Group really are heroes of the Homeless. Find out how you can help and raise awareness.

The Survivor – Bec McMillian

To say Bec McMillan has been through a lot is an understatement. courageous story about a woman who has lived a life full of adversity overcoming so many challenges from a child up until present. Bec has endured the unthinkable, the kind of shocking story that even the “Best” script writers could not begin to write- yet come out the other side an awakened soul that is shining brighter than one could imagine. Bec’s sole purpose in life is to help Inspire people to face ANY situation/life circumstance with strength-courage & determination and to never give up no matter what..
Bec’s approach on overcoming the depths of extreme adversity are described as Raw & Real. Bec prides herself on not claiming to be “perfect” and to simply “allow” yourself to be human. Bec talks about how she got over the worst of her challenges and how she remains so incredibly positive. No matter what you’ve been through you can inspire, lead and be an inspiration to others just like her.

Celebrity Homeless Sleepout

On any given night more than 116,000 Australians – including over 44,000 children and young people – don’t have a safe place to call home. This statistic has risen almost 14% in the past 5 years, and in a wealthy nation like ours this is unacceptable.

BROADBEACH PUBLIC SCHOOL this Friday night the 28th of June from 7pm till 7am I’m raising money for the homeless by doing my own Sleepout to support Mission Australia just before the LOGIES so there’ll be celebrities everywhere. Please help. $22 can buy a set of sheets so a child can be tucked snugly into bed and $299 can fit out a whole bedroom with basics to feel safe and secure.  Your donation will help support those at risk or experiencing homelessness.
